The 1st Sunday of the Month Milonga to be held Sunday, May 6th, 2012 is cancelled.
Galina and I received sad news from Santiago Quinn, manger of the Milonga Steakhouse Restaurant, that the restaurant has ceased operations effective April 15th, 2012.

Santi said that words could not express his heartfelt gratitude for the support our Tango community had given him, his staff and the restaurant. the current owners are looking to sell the operation, with new owners reopening under a new management structure/ restaurant theme. When that will take place is unknown. In the meantime Santi has returned to Miami to be with family and friends.

Our hope is that new ownership will call upon Santi and his team to bring the new restaurant up to full speed.

On a happier note, Galina and I have confirmed the 5th Sunday of the Month Milonga to be held April 29th, 2012 at the Polo Grill & Bar in Lakewood Ranch.  Please refer to the email announcement(s) for this event.

Unfortunately, The Polo Grill & Bar will not be able to host the 1st Sunday of the Month Milonga on Sunday, May 6th, 2012 since they will be closed.  We will see what accommodations are available in the future, until a new permanent facility is secured.  We welcome any suggestions.

Galina and I give our warm thanks to the community for the support of this milonga.  It was a special venue with a special atmosphere that we were grateful and honored to experience and share.

Please come and join Dave and me this Friday, May 18, at the newly remodeled Sara Dance Center for Milonga “Sin Rumbo.”  Cost is $10.00 and includes a one-hour lesson from 7:00 – 8:00 pm.  There will be FREE PIZZA, light snacks, and beverages.

This week we will continue with the series of lessons called “Elements“.  The concept of “Elements” is to help you develop an understanding of the form, technique, execution, and incorporation of tango elements into your dance.

The lesson will begin at 7:00 PM.  The milonga will follow from 8:00 PM – 11:00 PM.  Of course, first-time tango students will be taught individually on the basics of Argentine Tango.  So tell your friends and neighbors to come, learn, and enjoy the romantic Argentine Tango!

Tangueros, we have several ladies learning to dance.  We would like your support during the lesson so each lady will have a partner while learning Argentine Tango.  The floor is nice and big and we would really enjoy seeing many of our regular tango friends at these milongas.
